Man, the statement “Something Holds ME Together” is so true right now … these last few weeks have kicked my butt and I feel that I’ve been hanging on by a thread — school has started, ushering has started, work is busy and friends are getting lower on the list unfortunately. There are two good friends that I haven’t seen in a few weeks, which is just unacceptable! Oh, and I’m training for a marathon in there too. Another thing that has fallen to the bottom of my list is updating this blog — so I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to update this.

I’m going to be busy these next few months or even the entire year, but I think I’m ready for it!

Marathon training has actually turned into Half Marathon training — I got injured a while back and am still recuperating from that, so I had to take my training down a notch. I think this is good though, it gives me a chance to just take things slow with not as much pressure to get the high miles in. It has been tough though … my knee/IT Band starts hurting pretty bad around mile 8 so the thought of doing 26 is a little daunting. Thirteen seems a little more approachable right now. I had my gait analyzed this week and they recommended getting custom orthodics that would slip into my running shoes. I need to work on getting those and hopefully that’ll solve my problems.

Anyway, speaking of being busy, I have a few things I need to get done tonight because Anna and I are heading to Portland this weekend. I need to pack a bag, finish some homework, write a few emails for work and then meet a friend for a drink, so I’m going to have to sign off unfortunately.

I won’t sign off before I give you a little update on what I’m reading, watching, listening to and visiting:

Reading: For Life: 48 Days to the Work You Love: Dan Miller; For Pleasure: The Wonder Spot: Melissa Bank; For School: Marketing 2008: William Pride

Watching: I hear there’s something called the Vice Presidential Debate on right now, but no, I’ve decided to go back to 1985 and get a little DanceTV action watching “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” I also just picked up an absolute classic from the library. A classic that came out the same year as Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985)–this masterpiece will please both old and young. The movie I speak of is none other than Sesame Street’s “Follow That Bird.”

Listening: I’m still working on the Chronicles of Narnia Book on CD. I’ve just started “The Silver Chair” so hopefully I’ll be finishing that series up soon (I think I just have “The Last Battle” left after this one). I’ve been listening to a lot of radio lately but also plug in Brooke Fraser, Dave Barnes, Lady Antebellum, and some classical gets in there too when I need to relax after work. I just picked up a few CDs from the library to explore some more music options, so I’ll keep you posted if I find anything.

Visiting: FindWaldo.com: Waldo has turned 21! Can you find him in these classic searches?; I think I’ll be visiting this site quite a bit over the next year: UW Foster Business Library

Okay, and this is just awesome:

Well that does it for me — I’ll keep you posted on the happenings of my life.
