(according to StrengthFinder2.0)

I’m not sure how many of you have seen the book “StrengthFinder 2.0” (a bestselling book circulating meeting rooms around the country) but as a team-building exercise at work we did this exercise to see what strengths we have. Below are mine

1. Adaptability
2. Empathy
3. Developer
4. Restorative
5. Belief

I included some descriptions of these strengths below and it’d be great to get your thoughts on whether you think these are indeed some strengths of mine. I’d be great to get other people’s opinions!

Adaptability:  People who are especially talented in the Adaptability theme prefer to “go with the flow.” You have the good sense to be flexible and accept change as it occurs. This explains why your friends often describe you as unflappable — that is, not easily excited. By nature, you live in a state of hope-filled expectancy. You eagerly await what will come next.  You are not easily flustered by unexpected events, problems, or opportunities.

Empathy: People who are especially talented in the Empathy theme can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others’ lives or others’ situations. Instinctively, you frequently consider what you want to make better about yourself, a project, another person, a plan, or an event. You really hear what the person is telling you. As a result, other people usually feel safe entrusting to you their most private ideas and feelings.

Developer: People who are especially talented in the Developer theme recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from these improvements. Instinctively, you are devoted to helping others. You keep serving, even to the point of your own detriment. Because of your strengths, you place more importance on the purpose and value of what you do than on the monetary rewards that accompany success.

Restorative: People who are especially talented in the Restorative theme are adept at dealing with problems. They are good at figuring out what is wrong and resolving it. Instinctively, you frequently outthink and outmaneuver people. By nature, you easily detect areas of weakness and concentrate on them. Chances are good that you yearn to be regarded as a highly reliable and dependable person. Your strong desire to be deemed worthy of others’ trust motivates you, so you tend to concentrate on things about yourself that need to be fixed, enhanced, or upgraded.

Belief: People who are especially talented in the Belief theme have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their life. Chances are good that you may be a wordsmith — that is, a person who works with words.  Perhaps you hope to leave the world in better shape than you found it. Each insight into a human being brings you great joy. You want to know people on an up-close and personal basis. You probably refuse to think of anyone in terms of stereotypes.

So, are these my strengths? No pressure to comment.
